Concrete Scan to Locate Re-bar Within Parking Structure - Indianapolis, Indiana

A mechanical contractor needed to re-drill the drain holes on the top level of a parking structure in downtown Indianapolis. The drain holes were not big enough to drain all the water fast enough and the top level of the parking structure was flooding. The contractor needed to avoid the post tensioned cables during the drilling process so they contracted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Indiana to locate the PT cables. The technician on site was able to locate the PT cables and rebar quickly and accurately.

The technology used by GPRS of Indy doesn’t emit any radiation so scanning can be completed during regular business hours. Concrete imaging is a superior technology to most other methods of locating dangers in the concrete because it can provide accurate depths and detect how much cover is above the dangers. This allows the concrete cutting company to know where they can cut before they hit the dangerous item.
